Day 2 - On a bus to somewhere

Currently on a bus going somewhere, but not entirely sure where.  Tom and I are trying to make our way to the Cameron Highlands, famous for its tea plantations and where backpackers flock to escape the heat, drink tea and eat jam and scones.  Apparently we needed to get a bus from Puradaya bus station, but when we rocked up there, it was closed, and we had locals shouting and pointing us in a different direction, hence the bus going somewhere.  The route we're taking looks a little like the one that we took coming from the airport, so maybe Asia can't handle me already and the universe is sending me back.  It's not going to be that easy Asia!

Last night was our first night in Kuala Lumpur, and our first night in Asia. I also popped my hostel cherry, which was an interesting experience, and we also encountered our first ladyboy.  Because it was our first night we sprung for a double room with ac and our own bathroom, which is the backpacker's penthouse equivalent.  The shower was over the toilet, and only had one tap (hence one temperature setting), and I was never quite sure if I'd flushed the toilet or flooded the shower. But, it was a tonne of fun, and what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger, right?  Wheeler's, along with a ladyboy, also had a rooftop bar, which was really cool to hangout in and gaze across the KL skyline. Beers were rather expensive at RM8.5 (or AU$3), but we still managed to get rather drunk, after all it was our first night outside Australia!

We've now arrived at KL's main stadium, which could also be a bus terminal (fingers crossed!), so more later.

Note: I'm writing most of my blog posts on my iPhone and then uploading them when I have internet access, so they may be a couple of days behind me ;)
